A Living Part of The Bible
Information39.7019° N, 44.2983° E
Located in Turkey in Europe Altitude of 5,137m at peak Prominence of 3,611m The Mountain is a Stratovolcano and last erupted in 1840 Covering an area of 1,100km (Squared) Evidence shows that both Mt. Ararat and Little Ararat are post-flood mountains. ClimateAt Mt Ararat the climate is cool in the winter and warm in the summer, like many places in the world, but because of the ice cap at the top of the mountain the area is affected by altitude and the cold weather.
|
Wildlife/FaunaWild animals on top of Mount Ararat have been known to ferociously approach climbers.
Those families that raise herds of cattle, sheep or goats on Mount Ararat have sheep dogs to guide and protect. Many of these sheep dogs are very big, possibly 100 to 150 pounds which approach the climber or stranger to the area with a vicious growl and loud frightening bark. |
Plants/FloraBoth mountains in the Ararat region have little plant life due to the alpine climate. Snow covers the mountains and therefore the plants don’t have enough sunlight or nutrients to grow. Towards the peak there is an ice cap which has nothing but ice, no plants or species because of the cold.
